About Tom Taneyhill
Thomas R. Taneyhill is a fine artist and illustrator. Tom earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley - with an emphasis on classical and art history. He perfected his style while attending the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. After spending several years as a successful illustrator, Tom began his own series of work in 2002. Demand for his landscape paintings grew quickly, and his work is found in private, corporate, and cultural organization collections. "In my experience, the art of being an illustrator is the ability to create within the parameters set by the client. The fine artist attempts to make art itself an individual statement. I see my own artistic vision as a union of both disciplines. Presently, I find great inspiration in the landscape of Northern California. With a painting style developed during my time as an illustrator, I attempt to portray the subject in a way that evokes a sense of beauty. However, my greatest challenge is to find the elusive quality of timelessness hidden within a modern landscape." Tom is a community activist, supporting both art and conservation. He currently residences in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he lives with his wife, daughter and Border Collie.
